Status update:

10/10-I'm getting ready to blow up guys and brighten up the night sky!! Yay!!!!!!!!

10/11- Blowing up takes a lot of energy out of me.. :(

10/11- I am currently falling out of the sky... I think I am going to be sick... :C

11/3 - I am going to teach you how to balance equations. Take balanced equation: 2Sr + O2 -> 2SrO. Two atoms of Strontium will combine with one molecule of oxygen (with 2 atoms of Oxygen) to form two molecules of Strontium Oxide. First, we start with unbalanced equation Sr + O2 = SrO. Oxygen atoms are not balanced, 2 on left, 1 on right. So let's multiply right side by 2 to balance oxygen atoms. The new equation will be Sr + O2 = 2SrO. Now Strontium atoms are not balanced, 1 on left and 2 on right. So let's add one more Strontium atom on left. The new equation is 2Sr + O2 = 2SrO. Now, it is balanced!

Overview:

My 38 positive protons and my 38 negative electrons cancel each other, so I am nuetral when it comes to fights. My melting point is 769*C and my boiling point is 1384*C. I have 5 energy levels with electons that go pretty fast. My crystal structure is a very unique cubic.

Information:

Relationship Status:

interested only in Oxygen, NitrogenChlorineIodine

Primary Relationship:

network:

Alkaline-earth metal

valence electrons:

2

reactivity: Not as reactive as alkaline metals but pretty reactive B), I usually react to water and acids
state of matter:  Solids
Location on Periodic Table: Group 2 and period 5 ;)

Birthday:

Hometown:

Founded by Adair Crawford; Strontian, Scotland

Movies:

The Strange Life of Strontium

Activities & Interests:

I am used in fireworks and flares because I am really noticable when i react to other substances. I am also used for health because controlled amounts can help cure bone cancer. In the 1950s and 60s, I was used in nuclear weapons.

 I tame acids. Give me hydrochloric acid and I give you hydrogen. [Sr + 2HCl -> Sr(Cl)2 + 2H]

I do the same with water. [Sr + 2H2O -> Sr(OH)2 + 2H]

Places:

I can be found in Scotland, Mexico, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Spain. I am found in mining areas in these countries.

10/11- These humans just found me in Scotland again, an idiot thought I was a new element...

10/11- I just visited a mining area in Spain... they talk really fast.

10/11- I am currently in a factory in the UK, why are they changing me?

 11/3 - I went swimming, turned into Strontium Hydroxide and released a lot of Hydrogen. [Sr + 2H2O -> Sr(OH)2 + 2H]

Just relaxing, I look so dull when I'm not doing anything!

I just like being the center of attention!

I think I look pretty in this picture.

Am I gorgeous or am I gorgeous?

Dang, I am attractive!

Groups:

The groups that I hang out with are alkaline earth metals, and solids!

I have an explosive personality, but do I have to bond with anything to make me come out of my shell?

Yes, you must react with some other substance. For instance, I must react with water and/or acids to produce a bright red color. I am not sure what you are supposed to bond with, but I know you must react with a certain substance.
