1844- Just discovered by Karl Karlovich Klaus.
10/1/13 - I was just used to harden platnium.
10/5/13 - HAHA it only take 0.01 of me to stop corrosion of titanium, and i just saved titanium some more time.
11/4/13 - Just mixed with oxygen to make ruthenium oxide. Ru(s) + O2(g) -> RuO2(s)

Overview:
|
I am a hard silvery white transition metal in the platnium group on the periodic table. On the periodic table I am in the 8th group and in the 5th period. I am a solid at room temperature but melt at 800 degrees celsuis.

Activities & Interests:

I love being put in jewelry to make it a more darker fine color. I enjoy hardening other metals like platinum. But my favorite thing to do is separate H2S from oil refineries. One of the other things to do is combine with oxygen and form ruthenium oxide. Ru(s) + O2(g) -> RuO2(s)
|
Places:
|
- I was found in Russia
- I am found in jewelry stores around the world
-I am mined in South Africa
- Found in the atmosphere with oxygen to make ruthenium oxide. Ru(s) + O2(g) -> RuO2(s)

I react with oxygen when heated, water when it is not in normal conditions, and some halogens.

So, I am not the most reactive element out there.
