Status update:

10/9 - Still trying to find me?  I love hide and go seek!

10/10 - No firefighter needed! I'm just burning away diseases...

10/11 - I'm having a hot temper... I think I might explode!!!!

11/4 - I'm soooooo sad... nobody seems to remember that I'm alive.  It's like I'm a random tumbleweed that everyone just sees then just forgets... Neither carbon, sodium, nor magnesium want to have a single-displacement bond with me. :(

11/5 - No wonder I'm unstable... I don't have any job in balancing chemical equations!

Overview:

I don't have a lot of information about me yet because my life span of about eight hours; there is only an ounce of me in the whole planet!  I burn up in a human being's hand, so there's never been a direct interaction with me and the scientists.  I have an atomic mass of about 210, and I melt at 302 degrees Celsius.  I don't have thermal or electrical conductivity, but I have polarizability of 6 A^3.

Information:

Relationship Status:

Single Ready To Mingle!!!

Primary Relationship:

Single.... No one knows about my existence :(

network:

metalloid

valence electrons:

seven

reactivity: least reactive out of halogen group; reacts with sodium and hydrogen
state of matter:  solid
Location on Periodic Table: Group 17, Period 6

Birthday:

1940

Hometown:

Movies:

The Half Life of Astatine ; Too Young to Die

Activities & Interests:

I am created in a lot of nuclear labs because I am radioactive.  I am used inside of nuclear weapons.  Not only can I be destructible, but I also help human beings in medicine.  Doctors use my radioactive characteristic to kill tumor cells in places such as the brain.

Because nobody cares about my existence, I am not really in any known reactions.  I'm just FOREVER ALONE!

Places:

10/9 -  Checked in to GANIL, France for an overnight stay!

10/10 -  Zoomed in at JINR, Russia

10/11 - Living my half-life at CERN, Switzerland

11/5 - Besides the labs, I have no place to call home because no one wants to bond with me... :(

If there is only 1 oz of you on this planet...... Where do we find you?

Well, in 1940, I was produced by three scientists: Dale R. Carson, K.R. MacKenzie, and Emilio Segre. This was because I was needed to fill in the periodic table after over 70 years of playing hide and go seek. I am still be examined today by scientists in laboratories in GANIL, France, CERN, Switzerland, and JINR, Russia. Scientists have also caught on that I am the material that decays to create uranium! Now, don't help the scientists find me at the top of my favorite game: hide and go seek!!!
