Status update:

I, Nitrogen, am currently being used to freeze ice cream! IKR! I am like, the coolest element, literally.

10-10-2013

Floating around in the air, I get breathed in by humans. UGH. I mean, totally DISGUSTING. It's all hot and humid in their lungs. I just cannot stand it!!!

10-11-2013

Making up 78% of Earth's atmosphere is so fun!! I get to meet all these cool atoms, such as oxygen, hydrogen, and helium!

11-8-2013

OMG~OMG~OMG~

I'm like, in a RELATIONSHIP with Carbon!!! This will be SO much fun. We make Cyanide.... May we go around and poison people >.<

11-10-2013

YAY!! I just balanced myself with hydrogen!!! N2(g)+3 H2(g) --> 2 NH3(g)

I mean, balancing chemical equations are EASY... All you have to do is slowly work it out so you can determine how much of each element is needed.

Overview:

I am Nitrogen, a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that has a liquid form which boils at -198 degrees Celsius. I'm sure you would love to have me in my liquid form, but I evaporate too quickly. My most commonly found form is gas. I am a nonmetal that is somewhat soluble in water. Electric energy causes me to bond with oxygen, forming Nitrogen Oxide. Without the bacteria in the ground fixing me, I can prevent all plants from growing.

Activities & Interests:

Nitrogen just loves to chill. It takes a few seconds to give you frostbite, and extended contact with it can lead to freezing to death. It boils at a very, very low temperature. Nitrogen doesn't like to bond. Due to the electro-negativity, the bonding rates are more singular. Nitrogen is lazy. At room temperature, it is a very inactive gas.

  • 2 AgNO3 + Cu  Cu(NO3)2 + 2 Ag  -  this is a equation of silver nitrate before and after copper is added and a single replacement reaction takes place. In this reaction, the silver nitrate turns bluish silver and the silver is replaced by the copper.

Places:

In the air? There's Nitrogen. From the beginning of time. The air's still kicking!

10-9-2013

In the soil? Nitrogen particles. Plants are growing.

10-10-2013

In our lungs? Nitrogen taking up space. Oxygen being used.

Hey, hey heyyyy! Chech out this awesome chemical formula I'm a part of!! It tells how CYANIDE is made >__< ~

 4 Au + 8 CN- + O2 + 2 H2O = 4 Au(CN)2- + 4 OH-

The light bulb-contains argon, iron and nitrogen.

Nitrogen keeps the argon from exploding into bright sparks.

Liquid Nitrogen-

it  is rare to ever find liquid nitrogen in nature due to the low temps.

Nitrogen Cycle- The cycling nitrogen

helps things grow and stay alive.

Oxygen

Thunderstorms-

Because of the high pressure, nitrogen and oxygen react in thunderstorms.

Nitrogen Ice Cream-

The ice cream is quickly frozen by the nitrogen. A few seconds in

nitrogen and the ice cream will be frozen solid.

Nitro-trogen (^O^) you don't react under most circumstances,such a stubborn element. (=3=)

Wowww!!!! Your're soooo calm!!! I usually freak out when I meet some elements!!!!

Really? Thank you, I've never been called calm before.... I think it's cute how you freak out. >_<

What essential piece of a police officer's uniform is made of a fabric that contains some nitrogen?

nitrogen said

Technically, any part that has a blue hue contains nitrogen.
This includes their clothes, such as the shirt and pants.
The nitrogen is used to make the dye more effective.
Without it, it would not stay as well.

What is the nitrogen cycle?

nitrogen said

at 2:24 pm on Oct 29, 2013

The nitrogen cycle is a cycle in which nitrogen cycles through the air and is recycled through the ground. If not for the nitrogen cycle, nothing would be able to grow or stay alive if not for the nitrogen cycle. Nitrogen from dead plants and animals is recycled through the ground and broken down by bacteria. Then, it is turned into a gas and brought into the air, reacting under high pressure with oxygen.

Dear Nitrogen,

Oh you're such a beautiful and bright element. Please, I wish for you to be my partner in love so that we can take over the world. Think about it, using a covalent bond we are able to create one of the world's best poisoning. We can eradicate the humans and live together in peace.

Lovingly yours,
Carbon

Well, I appreciate the thought, but I'm not so sure....... I'll give it some thought and tell you my answer, ok?

nitrogen said

But, to tell the truth, I like the idea of taking over the world and eliminating all of the HUMANS....

carbon said

P.S. We make Cyanide ;)

sure! Why not, it sounds like fun. >_<

Hey Nitrogen! What's up? I was talking to my buds and they said that you are really lively. We could, ya know, share a full valence shell. Hit me up some time.

nitrogen said

Tell me, do we make any interesting componds? Anything cool or new???

lithium said

OMG hey Nitrogen! We should like totes hang out some time and make a bit of lithium nitride together! :D

nitrogen said

at 11:45 am on Nov 3, 2013

ummm.... what can we do, as lithium nitride?

silicon said

I'm so jealous of you nitrogen. How are you soooo social like that? I wanna be like that. I only react with oxygen, plutonium, and carbon.

nitrogen said

at 5:56 pm on Nov 4, 2013

Well, actually that't not true. I actually don't react under most circumstances.........

silicon said

at 8:33 pm on Nov 5, 2013

Really, because I see you reacting with oxygen and other elements in the air to give plants nutrients, and those plants give us nutrients, so I thought you were one of those social elements with tons of element friends. But you're Nitrogen, not me.

Oh, wait. scratch that. We have a covalent bond!!
