Status update:

7/6/13

Just started liquidizing in the room..Someone turn up the AC!

10/5/13

Upset because I'm a poor conductor of heat. Why can't I conduct heat well like other metals? :(

10/10/13

Someone accidentally spilled me into a lake. I don't want to pollute all these creatures!

10/11/13

Getting sick of balancing all these chemical equations. Can't these equations balance themselves? I'm not a balance scale! My friend Gold might be, though.

11/4/13

I am single because I hardly react with any elements. I react with Oxygen, but they're a stud to all the other elements. Itt'l be hard to find another element to be in a relationship with.

Overview:

I am a transition metal and I'm silver-colored. I just can't keep myself solid at room temperature. My personal trainer says my atomic mass is 200.59. Speaking of which, motivation isn't something I'm good at, so I don't feel like reacting with many acids.

Activities & Interests:

I'm very dangerous (everyone says it's just a rebellious phase) for the body because when I'm absorbed or inhaled,  I harm the body's processes, like nervous functions. I'm very clingy, and the body can't get rid of me from the bones. This causes death. I react with Oxygen to form Mercury (II) Oxide. I don't like the name, because I want to be a unique element. Having an element with a similar name doesn't make me feel special. I am liquid at room temperature because I only get solid when the temperature is cold enough for me. Everyone says that makes me high priority. The types of reactions are combustion, synthesis, decomposition, single displacement, double displacement, and acid-base. When oxygen and another compound combine to form water & carbon dioxide, it is combustion. When two or more compounds that are simple combine to form a complicated one, it is a synthesis reaction. Decomposition is the opposite of a synthesis reaction. A single displacement two elements trade places in a compound, and double displacement is where two different molecules switch places and form different compounds. An acid-base reaction is a double base reaction that happens when an acid and a base react with each other. I am involved in combustion, synthesis, and decomposition.

A neon lamp..It's super cool in here. If only I were able to see myself!

9/27/13

A thermometer! :) So glad that people are using me to measure temperature :)

Someone's bones because they accidentally inhaled me..It's not my fault I'm poisonous!

Look at my skin! I'm basically glowing!

Someone careless just dropped me! :(

What happens if you are consumed by a small child?

mercury said

at 9:22 pm on Nov 4, 2013

If I am consumed by a small child, I will stay in the bones. I will cause nerve function problems, and kill the child.

Will you hurt my hands if I touch you?

mercury said

at 9:24 pm on Nov 4, 2013

I will not directly hurt your hands if you touch me. I will, however, hurt other parts of your body such as your kidney and brain.

What is the most damage you have done and with what other element helped you cause the damage?

mercury said

at 9:21 pm on Nov 4, 2013

The most damage I have done is damage to the brain functions. No other element helped me cause the damage.

What "substance" in oxygen and concentrated sulphuric acid?

mercury said

I react with Oxygen to form Mercury (II) Oxide. I also react with Concentrated Sulphuric Oxide to form Mercury (II) compounds. As mentioned in my Activities & Interests.

Would you mix with water?

mercury said

I would not mix with water. This is because I am a metal.
