Technically, Gold is not proven to be a sign, but there are many hypotheses. One "test" is called the Gold test, which is an old wives tale. The old wives tale states that if you rub a gold ring on the outside of your cheek, if it results in a dark line, legend says that you're anemic.

I love gold jewelry, but I've never understood the difference (other than the obvious color) between yellow gold and white gold. How do you change from one to the other?

The difference between yellow gold and white gold is their mixture of alloys in order to make them strong, because white gold is an alloy of yellow gold. White gold is made out of pure gold and some white metals like silver and palladium. Yellow gold is a mixture of pure gold and alloys of copper and zinc. You can't change from yellow gold to white gold. You can't go from white to yellow, but you can go from yellow to white.
